this weekend I flew to upstate New York with my grandma after a loooooong day of delays and missed flights. my dad was inducted into his high school hall of fame this weekend for swimming which is a big honor but if you asked him what he was in syracuse for he'd say "well, uh, theres this thing tonight we're going to...." and hed try to be so modest. but despite what he looks like now, 

my dad was a big deal in high school and was ranked in the top 5 swimmers in the nation in college. 

so after a wonderful ceremony and dinner, and a day of being tourist-y around my parents hometown and watching SU's Orange lose the game, we drowned our sorrows in half-moon cookies and then i hopped back on a plane and traveled all day to come home. even though i will see my parents again in two weeks, its always hard to say goodbye. so mom, ill be home soon to rub on your head, and dad, even though we rarely get along, i still love you and im so proud of you. and thank god this weekend is over so i dont have to hear the "kadinker" story anymore!
